Everyday driving
The batteries that fail in Kelmscott, and why
Kelmscott is settled suburb driving — the school run, the shops, the trip to work and back. It sounds gentle on a battery and it is the opposite: a run of a few kilometres never puts back what starting the engine takes out, so the charge level creeps down over months until one cool morning the car won't turn over.
With 5 schools inside the suburb boundary and Kelmscott Plaza and Stargate Kelmscott to get to, that short-trip pattern is most of the driving here, which is why the batteries we replace in Kelmscott are usually three to four years old rather than five or six.
The other half is the commuter car that sits at Kelmscott station all day in the heat and gets asked to crank at five o'clock. We'll come to the car park, test the battery and the alternator free, and fit on the spot if it's actually the battery.

Battery replacement in Kelmscott
Kelmscott is 8.1km from our counter, about eleven minutes straight up Albany Highway, with two stations and Kelmscott Plaza in the middle of it. Close enough that we can quote, load and be there inside the hour rather than giving you a half-day window.
Two stations means a steady run of commuter-carpark callouts — cars that have stood in the sun since seven and won't crank at five. The rest is five schools' worth of short local trips, the pattern that quietly drains a battery over a couple of years. We test the battery and the alternator free before selling anything, because plenty of these are charging faults rather than dead batteries.
- Delivery to Kelmscott quoted upfront, before we load the van
- Free battery and alternator testing, no obligation
- SuperCharge and Exide batteries in stock for common specs
- Your old battery is taken away and recycled at no charge
- Open 24/7, every day of the year

Kelmscott FAQ
Common Kelmscott questions
Do you deliver batteries to Kelmscott?
Yes. Kelmscott is 8.1km from our Maddington warehouse — about 11 minutes via Albany Highway. There's a small delivery fee outside our three 5km free zones (Canning Vale, Maddington and Fremantle), or you can collect from the counter and pay the straight warehouse price. Call 08 9451 4048 for the exact figure.
My car won't start at Kelmscott station — can you come out?
That's a call we get a lot. Station car parks are where a tired battery finally gives up, because the car sits all day in the heat and then gets asked to crank at 5pm. We'll come to the car park, test the battery and alternator free, and if it's the battery we fit a new one on the spot — usually 15 to 20 minutes. Open 24/7 — every day of the year on 08 9451 4048.
Why does my battery keep going flat in Kelmscott?
Usually short trips. Kelmscott has 5 schools inside the suburb, and a school run plus a few kilometres to the shops never puts back what starting the car takes out — so the battery slowly discharges until one cold morning it won't crank. We'll test it and the alternator free. If it's just undercharged we'll tell you that rather than sell you a battery.
How much is a car battery in Kelmscott?
It depends on the spec — a small sedan and a European AGM are a long way apart. Because we buy factory-direct there's no retail markup in the middle. Call 08 9451 4048 with your rego and you'll get a fixed number, not a range.
How do I get to your warehouse from Kelmscott?
Unit 11/95-97 Kelvin Road, Maddington, WA 6109 — about 11 minutes from Kelmscott, straight down Albany Highway, about 8.1km. Free customer parking on site. Walk in any time we're open, get the battery and the alternator tested free, and have it fitted while you wait.
Are you open after hours if I'm stuck in Kelmscott?
Open 24/7 — every day of the year — call 08 9451 4048 day or night. If you're stranded in Kelmscott we'll give you a straight ETA rather than a "sometime today", and we'll come to the car.
Do you cover all of the City of Armadale?
Yes. Kelmscott is one of the City of Armadale suburbs we run to, and we deliver across the whole council area — residential, trade and fleet. If you're on the boundary and not sure, call 08 9451 4048 with the street and we'll tell you straight away whether you're inside a free-delivery zone.
